- Abstract
Sea cucumbers, also known as ‘trepang’ or ‘beche-de-mer’, are highly prized in East Asian markets. Many stocks in the Indo-Pacific region have been over-exploited to satisfy the growing demand from China, Taiwan and the SE Asian countries where ethnic Chinese live.
