- Abstract
The Jaffna lagoon is a shallow water body in Northern Sri Lanka. The main season for crab fishery in the lagoon is from June to December. Over 70 % of crabs caught are by Parik Koodu, which is a baited trap. Neptunus pellagicus, Charybdis annulata and Scylla serrata are the three species of edible crabs in the lagoon.
