Abstract

Population Parameters of Leiognathus brevirostris from the trawl catches of the Portugal Bay area, Puttalam Estuary, Sri Lanka were investigated based on length frequency data, analysed with LFSA and compleat ELEFAN computer programs. The asymptotic length (L∞) and growth constant (K) were estimated to be 13.8 cm (total length) and 0.9 year-1, respectively.
