- Abstract
In 1967, The Ceylon Fisheries Corporation , a Givernment sponsored organiztion, commenced longlinning for oceanic tuna in the Indian Ocean with two vessel (315Gr. T.Class). The vessels have restricted the operational range to the equatorial belt and hence the effort has been directed chiefly on the yellow fin and big eye tunas.
