- Title
- ZP00007: Seasonal variation in reef Associated zooplankton
- Abstract
The composition, abundance and seasonal variation of zooplankton associated with the reef lagoon at Hikkaduwa was studied over an annual cycle, using monthly samples. Diversity was analysedusing Shannon-Weiner Diversity Index (SWDI). The zooplankton community comprised of holoplankton (73.17%) and meroplankton (26.82%) belonging to Arthropoda, Protozoa, Coelenterata, Ctenophora, Annelida, Mollusca and Chordata. Zooplankton diversity was highest in March (SWDI=2.159) and lowest in October (...
