Abstract

Coral reefs occur along only 2% of the 1585 km coastline of Sri Lanka. Large extents of these reefs are subjected to numerous anthropogenic impacts, with some reefs showing considerable damage by a single activity that is dominant in the area, frequently well rooted in the local community and contributing significantly to the local economy.
